Bucket list

1. Watch a concert that I will pay for. For the past years, I never had to pay to watch a concert.
2. Go abroad alone. Asia would be satisfactory, but Europe would be perfect. I was born to backpack accross Europe.
3. Have a haircut from Jing Monis
4. Have coffee with Biancs and Ma. Better if kasama si Liz and si Georgie. Perfect! 4 to 1! HEAVEN!!!
5. Stay in a suite in the Manila Hotel the night before my graduation. Then I should be able to have a haircut from Jing Monis, and styling by Rajo Laurel or Martin Bautista.
Again, HEAVEN!!!!
6. Hire a personal assistant (No offense, Keisha and Jamie)
7. Go to Republiq and/or Encore. Again, with Mike, Liz, Franco, Georgie and B. Kahit kasama pa si Tim (so Republiq yun) and si Mond (eww much?). Better if I go with Jigs, Jonty and Abe- I haven’t seen them for quite some time!
8. Interview Charo Santos. I am so curious about her rise to power. Also, Maria Ressa would be a nice interviewee! She is my idol!
9. Have a mass celebrated for my eighteenth birthday at the San Beda Abbey. I planned to have it in Manila Cathedral, but for sentimental reasons, I now like the abbey!  (Viel married there!) Ok din sa Church of the Gesu (because I love the Jesuits), pero too far- sa Katipunan pa.
10. Go to Cebu. Never been to Cebu. I want to stay sa Hilton. Better call my ex, Paris.
11. Go to a date. Never been to one. (Hi, Biancs!)
12. Go on an all-out shopping spree in Forever 21 (THE ORIGINAL ONE!)
13. Lose weight, ideally to weigh around 160-170lbs, with 31”-33” waist.
14. Learn to swim better. Swimming is my favorite sport.
15. Learn to play football. Kahit futsal lang, para di mainit!
16. Enroll in a health club (that’s how we say gym in the UK)
17. Attend a state banquet (hello, Sec. Coloma)
18. OJT in Malacanan or in Tito Alan’s office. (He’s my dad’s barkada- they were chums since elementary in DLS-Z)
19. learn to drive. Ayaw ako turuan ng dad ko!!!!
20. take Tayag for 199.1 (Hi, mam!)
21. take out a new phone plan. Shame on my parents for taking my plan away from me. Boo! (I want to take out a plan with the free BB, kahit mag-add! 1200 lang per month sana.)
22. Have a godson/goddaughter. (I still don’t have one)
23. Have a signet ring made. Also, I love a new pair of cufflinks!
24. Have a proper stationery warddrobe made. Whole sheets, half sheets, envelopes, notelets - the works.
25. Finish my part of the research for the sainthood process of Empress Zita. Hopefully I schedule an interview with the children of Lady May Abel Smith and Princess Irmingard of Bavaria for the research.
26. Organize a rocking Christmas party with my Maroons, Tuks and Pa-next friendships. Oh, with Rich, Karla and Dien too.
27. Visit Kuya Rob and Sir Jalski in UPD. And watch a Sugarfree gig and alaskahin si Jalski (HAHAHA!)
28. Run for student council.
29. Finish Cum Laude.
30. Host a television show, kahit once lang. Kahit sa NBN lang. Kahit event na lang. Sayang, I declined the invitation to host the Bill Clinton forums.
And last but not the least: To enjoy my last year and a half sa UP. Honestly, I am crying now thinking how I can live without you guys. I was miserable when I graduated high school because I cannot imagine life with my barkada, to the point that we sometimes coordinated our uwi so that we will meet each other again. But with my nearly three years in UP, I have met more people that have touched my life in one way or another. Paano na kung di hihirit sila Raf or kung hindi ako babarahin ni Ma and ni Jeryl? I cannot imagine life without UP and without my friends! As much as I love to graduate already, I dread it equally because I will be leaving my best friends, my comfort zone, and the lifestyle that I have been accustomed to for the past 3 years. Totoo yan! But as Tito Boy says, we don’t say goodbye. We only say till we meet again. Maliit lang ang mundo and we always run in circles. :( Emo mode ako, sorry! I just went to my high school and I was really crying! Sobra! I’m sure you know I love you all. <3 Let’s enjoy our last year. And please, RESTRAIN ME IF I’M BEING TOO MADALDAL!!! UTANG NA LOOB!

So pissed to find out that the Philippine Postal Corporation has lost 2 of my letters again! Since May, I have lost a total of about 11 letters. The disappointing thing about it is that the contents has a personal and sentimental value albeit a lack of monetary value.

Here is a list of the items that were confirmed as lost:

1. A pack of used American postage stamps from the Oregon, United States
Bought from ebay for $1.50

2. A pack of used British Commonwealth Stamps from Ireland
Bought for 2 Euros

3. A pack of used American postage stamps from the Oregon, United States
Bought from ebay for $1.50 (sent again by the seller as replacement)

4. A set of stamps issued in 1973 for the Wedding of Princess Anne
Bought from Ebay

5. A personal letter from the Josephite Sisters from Australia with some novenas.

6. A pair of new Seven for all Mankind jeans from California, United States
Bought from Ebay for $ **.**

7. A pack of used postage stamps from the Isle of Man
Bought from ebay

8. A parcel containing religious articles from the Oratory of St. Joseph, Canada

9. A parcel containing an ex ossibus relic of Bl. Andre Bessette

10. A parcel containing another ex ossibus relic of Bl. Andre Bessette

11. A parcel containing an ex ossibus relic of S. Veronica Giuliani from the Clarisas Capucinas.

My loyalty to my President ends where my loyalty to my Church begins.

During the elections, I openly campaigned for Noy. I was a Noynoy volunteer. When I campaigned for him, I knew that it was a commitment for six years. I am not retracting my support, but I have to say that I am very disappointed with his stance on the Reproductive Health Bill. I cannot in good conscience support a bill that is contrary to my church.

Why am I against RH Bill?

First, because it will openly campaign for use of artificial contraceptives versus natural family planning method. Yes, it is written in the RH Bill proposal that it will promote all types of family planning methods- but as early as now, there is a war chest that is reserved for buying condoms and contraceptive pills for distribution. Demonizing natural family planning methods are not only erroneous but also unethical. I know a particular female celebrity who, while she was still living with her husband, used natural family planning methods-particularly the calendar method- as she is allergic to artificial contraceptives. Yet, she never got pregnant!

Why is the church opposed to artificial contraceptives, anyway? It is because artificial contraceptives, in particular contraceptive pills, are abortifacent. What is my proof? Contraceptive pills kill a fertilized egg, that is what happens when an egg and a sperm unites, prior to attaching itself to the wall of the uterus. The state adopted the definition that unless an egg attaches itself to the walls of the uterus, there is no presence of human life. But human life starts at the moment the egg and sperm unites. Thus, legally speaking, contraceptive pills violate the right to life of the fertilized egg.

Second, because I believe that the RH bill is unnecessary. The main thrust of the RH bill is that the government should be able to provide for the needs of couples with regards to family planning. But, news alert, the government is already doing that! All local health centres have stocks of condoms and contraceptive pills that they can be given to people who may ask for them. Why the need for another bill when the status quo is sufficient. Do we really need DOH representatives lurking around malls, parks, and other public places distributing condoms and pills? I don't think so.

The Church is pro-life. And we are also pro-choice. I respect the prerogative of a couple to choose for themselves. The role of the state in family planning is that they should be able to provide for the natural and artificial family planning needs of those couples who may seek them. The Church's role is to proselytize to their flock to avoid using artificial birth control methods. But in no way should the state actively promote or "advertise" family planning methods.

The Church doesn't condemn family planning per se, but we condemn the use of artificial family planning methods.

No to RH Bill.

Just learned that the HLI Management has already said yes to distributing the vast sugar plantation to the farmers. Sana it's the end na of all ka-hasselduck-an about Luisita, especially because Noy always gets the blame.

Good morn-night!

Aaron's Seal of Approval Week 2 -L'oreal Elnett Hairspray

Possibly the most coveted hair product since the 1950s, Elnett used to be banned in the States and American women literally came home with hordes of this product when coming from Europe. But I won't blame them - this is really good stuff, and I believe one of the two best hairsprays ever - the other one being Swarchskopz or however you spell that freakin name. It holds my hair for a really long time, which tells a lot to the strength of this hairspray because I'm so sweaty. Also, it is very touchable. I sometimes use it in combination with Bench Fix Clay Doh Lite or alone. But either way, it works very, very good. It sells for around 650 PHP at Bench Fix Salon and other leading salons and beauty supply stores.

MFM (My favorite magazines) round-up

1. The Kris Aquino Magazine (ABS-CBN Publishing)
A new issue of K-Mag is released, with very juicy details about the Kris-James drama saga, a behind the scenes peak at the inauguration of P-Noy, and a delectable choice of very delicious recipes. Very worth it for the PHP 130.00 cover price. Buy na, Now na!!!!

2. GARAGE MAGAZINE (Sesame Seed Publishing-Manila Bulletin)
For it's second year special issue, Garage comes up with a very good line-up of contents, starting with Diether Ocampo on the cover, the latest fashion trends for men on the international catwalks, staying fit, the latest exercise routine, and of course the annual men's style awards. So nice!

My super duper new love sa mga magazine. Super informative, especially the articles, not mga shallow lang. But some may think it's too expensive for 300 pesos, but every issue is worth two months, so okay lang. :-)

Aaron's Seal of Approval Week 2 -Gatorade Propel Vitamin Water

Hello everybody! I would like to share with you the second item that I super duper love. For those who haven't seen me personally, let me be the first one to share that I am quite on the heavy side. And so, for someonw who wants to feel I can help my body lose a little bulk here and there (although I really make no conscious effort), this product is a Godsend! Gatorade Propel Vitamin Water comes in three flavors, lemon, green apple, and orange - I like the first two the best. This innovation from Gatorade has only 18.7 calories per 500 ml! Imagine, 18.7 calories. I also love the citrusy zest and the fact that it isn't too sparkly (though I love San Pellegrino and Schweppes- but that's for another article). It is also loaded with vitamins, especially vitamins C and E. My dietician says that any food that has less than 20 calories can be classified as "free food", meaning it can be consumed at any quantity. This is really the real deal! No hidden calories, 0 fat, very little sodium, and less tham half a teaspoon of sugar. And it is very, very satisfying. Nothing beats a bottle of Propel after a brisk walk!

E.O. No. 4

P-Noy already signed E.O. No. 4 creating the Media Communications Group. Congratulations to Atty. Edwin Lacierda, Sonny Coloma and our ANC Kapamilyas Manolo Quezon and Ricky Carandang. Also congratulations are in order for TJ Manotoc! Although he had to leave Mornings@ANC, he is "promoted" to primetime news with Ces Orena Drilon, for "The Rundown" still at ANC.

Nightmares at Blogspot

I had a super nightmare last week. As in total nightmare! It was like I slept at around 2 am, then I woke up from Nightmare #1 at around 4:30. I couldn't sleep so watched TV muna until 5:30. Then guess what? Nightmare #2! And just when you are about to think I've already had my fair share of nightmares, after I woke up at around 7am, I had Nightmare #3! Talk about a hard day's night!

Anyway, let me share with you Nightmare #1. It started when I was in our house in Bataan. The mood was quite pensive and I am under the impression that somebody died. Then as I was in the azotea with some of my relatives, there was a car that started raining gunshots on us! Feeling martial law ako! Nobody died, but we all went inside a Vios ba na car. Imagine, about 20 of us inside a car and everybidy crouched down para they can't be seen sa window.

Tapos, we drove until somebody said na I want to eat. (Maybe me?) So we stopped by a grocery, tapos the bought this and that, na parang normal lang. The goons pala followed us. Tapos takbo ako na parang hinahabol lang ni Ringgo sa Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo. Tapos I ended up in a street na parang rubbled na dinaan ng ilang wars. On the left side of the street, I saw the church at Adamson, the church of St. Vincent de Paul, na in flames. So ako, sabi ko, "Naku, I have to save the altarpieces." So pasok ako sa church. It was super mausok, then I saw some people na falling. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that it was the Pres. Cory Aquino and her daughters! So panicking mode ako, kasi the dilemma was, who do I save first? Eh the church is malapit na ma-super gutt ng fire. Eh I noticed Pres. Cory and the others dead, and the only one speaking was Ballsy and Krissy. So I think I saved Ballsy first then I came back to pick up Krissy.

And nakakatawa the ending of the first nightmare! After nung incident sa church, biglang parang nag cut to another scene ang dream ko! The next scene was I was already outside the church, and marami nang firemen, tapos I was standing, covered in a blanket. Tapos beside me was Ballsy and Krissy in stretchers. Tapos I called Jiggy yata and told him to come there. Tapos we both went to the hospital and brought Ballsy and Krissy there. Ayun.

Ang nightmare #2 was more ma-action. Parang medyo Robin Padilla ako dito (sayang di ko ka-partner si Ate Ma). Pero let's save it for another part of the blog. However, before I end this blog, let me share something pa. Sabi ni Jiggy (in real life ha, not in the dream), if you had a nightmare daw, you should just flip your pillow, tapos you'll get back to sleep agad daw. Kaya lang too late the advise. Maybe next time....

Seal of Approval: Evian Brumisateur

I have been using this product since May of last year and I have to say how nice it has been in making my skin soft and supple and shine-free anytime, anywhere. At around PHP 200 for a small bottle (about $4-), it is quite a steal. Plus the ergonomic design of the bottle is so beautiful.

So what is this brumisateur? It is, basically, an Evian water spray, mixed with some other stuff. That means, NEVER TRY TO DRINK IT. What you do is spray it to your face, around a feet away, as it is in an aerosol can, and gently tap your face with tissue. And voila. It's done.

I'lld give it a score of 8/10!

Seal of Approval

Every week, I will feature a product that I liked on this website- kinda like Good Housekeeping's Seal of Approval. I will be describing that product and gauging how nice it worked for me. I hope to cover everything from designer labels to food to healthcare. What do you think?

Jiggy Cruz to join YSpeak

Got clearance to tweet this. I'm now part of the YSpeak family :) my first appearance on the show as co-host will be on August 14 :)

Welcome to Hodge Podge!

Hello to everyone who is reading my first blog entry for Hodge Podge.

To start, I would like to explain why I chose the name Hodge Podge. You see, I am a very complex person that is interested in an unorthodox assortment of things. I am a stamp collector, a monarchist, a royal genealogist, an Aquino-phile, a Roman Catholic, and custodian of several relics of Catholic saints prior to use in a church. So in the next few days, months, years, etc., please expect to be flooded with information about these and more.
